The peacock symbolically represents radiant glory, immortality, majesty, integrity, pride, longevity, and love. A fan of peacock feathers is a symbol of compassion. In China, it signifies dignity, high rank, and beauty. A peacock feather was awarded upon attaining a high rank for merits, symbolizing the emperor’s favor.
In China, the peacock symbolizes beauty and splendor, reflected in its plumage – blue-green tail feathers adorned with eye-like spots. Beyond its beauty, the bird also represented high rank. From the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) until the early 20th century, peacock feathers were widely used to decorate the ceremonial attire of officials of various ranks and could also be given as gifts in recognition of faithful and diligent service.

The dial painting is done with paints and a multi-layer hot enamel coating. The dial plate with the peacock appliqué is made of 18-karat gold. The hour and minute hands are spear-shaped, made of rose gold, with hand finishing.
